RE: [cobalt-users] Backup raq 2/3 - BCT606

Assuming that your main concern is /home then you could easily do this via
rsync. rsync will only copy the files that have been modified. The catch is
if you set it to pick up deletes then it really isnt a backup, but if you
dont and you have to do a restore, you may be restoring files that should
have been deleted. To get around this, I would do a daily rsync with no
delete and then perhaps every week or 2 run one with deletes. You are
probably better off if you have several raqs doing the syncs across the
raqs, meaning that raq rsyncs its /home to raq2 and raq2 rsyncs its home to
raq1. Then just use the web page or scheduled backup in the gui to backup
the configuration files.

Subject: [cobalt-users] Backup raq 2/3 - BCT606

I was wondering what programs I can use to do full backups on the raqs.

With the raq3 is it possible to use the secondary hard drive as a backups
drive and have a program that backups any changed files from the main system
hard drive to the secondary backup drive.

I just want the program to write the file if it hasnt been created, and if
it does exist it writes over the file if the file size or date are
different.

Whats the best backup procedure/program I should use for this purpose?

Please take note that it's a 20gig hdd to a 20gig backup hdd.

I dont want it writting every single file, only the ones that have been
changed backed up every day.
