I presume you mean in the browser.
This has nothing to do with reverse DNS. If you want your apache web
server to rewrite the domain name as www.mydomain.com, there are two ways
you can do this.
Either replace the "Rewrite" lines in the /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf file
with your own, custom written for these sites, OR (more easily) rename the
machine from <ns> to <www> (although I'm not sure this will work in all of
your circumstances). This should NOT affect DNS operation.
This only happens on a few sites.
All sites are set up same in DNS management.
By chance are those sites sharing the same IP# as <ns.rootdomain.com> while
the others are not?
Anyone know what causes this?
This can happen, because of the RaQs default rewrite rules, when doing
name-based hosting with one IP#. Personally, I never use the main IP# for
vitual hosting, though you may not have this choice.
