order allow,deny
allow from all
require valid-user
Authname 'Anytext here'
Authtype Basic

...seems to work! You are a GENIUS! Thank you so much!!!!! One question
though - if my ISP has other sites on the server (which they do) will these
sites be able to access the directory with THEIR admin passwords??
