any file that begins with a . is cloaked for security. In telnet you need to
ls -al to see them.
If you really want to see them in FTP you need to edit your proftpd.conf
file per the FAQ
at http://www.proftpd.net/docs/index.html

Is there a reason why the .htaccess file will not show up in the directory.
I know the file is there, but I can't see it with FTP or when I Telnet. I am
using a RaQ3.
