RE: [cobalt-users] Invalid Hostname Errors

Greetings Again,

Actually you hit on a point I was wondering about as the problem only
appeared *after* the "POP before Relay" pkg was installed (actually the very
next day). But on a RaQ3i, I don't have an area where I can enter IP's for
relay by hosts/domains..(?)

I configured the spikeone.net domain as the first VD on the system with an
IP of 216.167.53.177, after setting up the primary/secondary DNS. The other
domains that followed all currently use the 216.167.53.177 IP as well (which
is currently only four virtual domains). Should I have placed the
spikeone.net virtual domain on the same IP that I used for the primary DNS -
216.167.27.136..? Or is my current configuration okay having the VD setup
with the 216.167.53.177 IP..?

I have a feeling this is the right direction/resolution (pop before relay)..
but I'm still not sure what's up or how/where to proceed...? :)

OH BTW.. (in a separate issue) I was one of those poor souls who rushed and
installed RaQ3-Security-2.2.pkg yesterday *before* it was removed because of
problems. I then attempted to un-install the pkg per some info I found in
the list, but to no avail. I later read in a post from Cobalt that the
un-install attempt only removed the check-sums from the package.. So where
does that leave us..? Can the buggy 2.2 security pkg be completely
removed..? (should it be)..? Cobalt says a patch is coming for those who
installed the patch, followed by a revised version of the security patch
itself. But what about those of us who tried to remove the original patch
and were unsuccessful..(and now not showing as installed)..? Should we
install the new patch over the old one (once available)..? Or should we
install the revised (new) security pkg when it becomes available instead of
the patch to fix the patch...?

Thanks for your input and suggestions.. I really appreciate this group and
it's members. I have learned a great deal about the Cobalt systems from
several members since I joined the list two-three weeks ago. I'm glad this
user's group is here..!

Best Regards,
Craig Napier
