Why wouldn't this work if you are behind a firewall? You still need

your firewall?

Telnet will NOT work automatically from behind a proxying firewall. What I've got at home is Winproxy; the older one, not the one that just came out. It's got its own telnet proxy... works like this...

Presuming your firewall box has an internal address of 192.168.0.99, you'd type in "telnet 192.168.0.99" (without the quotes of course) from START|RUN.

Then in the telnet window you'd get a prompt from the telnet proxy asking you for the machine you wanted to telnet in to.

If I follow your instructions, I get a "Could not open a connection" error.

My point being that I answered in great detail with something that would always work, and you replied with what you billed as a simpler solution, but which wouldn't always work for everyone.

I make a lot of mistakes, but I do try to cover all basis when I write even a short tutorial. So I guess you might say I've got an ego <wry grin>.

Anyway...this is getting way off the original topic.

It's certainly still on topic of remotely administrating a cobalt RaQ; personally I have no problem with it.
