Re: [cobalt-users] SSL is driving me crazy

Well folks, I've was told this afternoon that the SSL is
setup different on a RaQ2 than it is on a RaQ3, and that
Cobalt forgot something(?) when they did the SSL parts of
their programming. Anything pertaining to SSL on a RaQ2
won't work on a RaQ3. There is absolutely no information
available for certificate sharing on a RaQ3s in the KBs or
the cobalt-user archives. Our tech guy was put on some
contact list after speaking with Cobalt about this problem.
Hopefully we'll hear back from them before the next lunar
eclipse occurs.

Since I *just* went through all of this, I can safely say
"sometimes" about
using the same IP for each site. We normally do just this,
but we've
recently installed some e-commerce software, (PDG Shopping
Cart..., excellent
group of people btw!) and I had to do some mods on our
RaQ2's httpd-ssl.conf
file to reflect different IP's for sites using this
software, along with
ScriptAlias and VirturlHost directives. I'll post the more
detailed info
here when I get back to work. (remind me!) In the
meantime, go over to
Apache.org and check out the VirtualHost directive info and
such.

Also, we're using the SSL package from Cobalt, which is
actually RedHats 3.1
version of secure server modified for the mips processor.

Regards,

Dana
