Hi! I got it to work by swapping the IP addresses
of the Win98 machine and the Qube2. The Win98 machine had a lower IP number
(192.168.0.1) than the Qube2. I had no idea that it would have any
effect.
Thank you for your help! Per-Otto

Subject: RE: [cobalt-users] Urgent! Can't connect to
Qube2!
What
is the IP address of your Win98 machine? Are you connecting via a hub or
directly via a cross-over cable?
This might be a really stupid question, but I
can't seem to connect to my new Qube2. I've followed the instructions, given
it an IP-adress (192.168.0.2, subnet mask 255.255.255.0) and when I try to
connect to it through my Win98, machine, nothing happens. The little LED at
the network connection goes on briefly whenever I try to access the Qube2,
which I believe means that there is nothing wrong with the connection between
the PC and the Cube2 (through a hub, of course). I've changed the network
cables as well.
I've tried telnet, ftp, pinging and http access
without luck. Is there something I've forgotten? What should I
check?
Pls. answer through e-mail, as I don't check this
list very often!
Thank you in advance!
