Don't know the hard limit; it's well over 100.  Something in the tens of 
thousands, I'd imagine, though I've never looked at the code.

Yes.  It'll be a problem for everything else as well.  The last time I had 
an Internet server with 16 megabytes of ram was in 1995.  Minimum today is 
64 mb.
