Hello kind people,
Okay laugh at me. I got a used Qube 2 that the previous owner says was
restored w/ the Restore CD. So it had the factory config. But I can't
get it working. <sob>
The LCD status seems to be saying the correct things. I've been RTFM and
the KB like crazy. Am I the only guy who can't get this up and running
in 15 minutes? :)
Here are two condensed descriptions of what I've tried:
Day 1: I gave the Qube a dummy IP#, like 1.1.1.1, and a subnet of
255.255.255.0. I tried connecting to it via a laptop with a crossover
cable to the Qube's primary port, with the client running TCP/IP, with a
different IP#, but same subnet. No dice.
Day 2: I bring the Qube to work, plug it into a spare 10BaseT port with a
regular cable to the Qube's primary port. I reset it. I assign it a
valid static IP# that my Mac had been using. I switched my Mac to DHCP in
a seperate LAN ethernet port (not the Qube's secondary one). And I still
can't connect to the Qube from my Mac via the IP#. The network runs
TCP/IP et al, and works for my Mac...
Please help!
Thanks in advance,
Isao
