I don't think that's what he's asking for, Dan. He wants "joe" to be able
to set up to receive mail for "joe", and have the system automatically
differentiate <joe@xxxxxxxxxxx from <joe@xxxxxxxxxxx>. He, like me,
doesn't think the customer should have to deal with concepts like "you
can't use joe because someone else did, but you can use joe2 and have mail
for joe forwarded to it".

Put @domain.com or @www.domain.com in their aliases. Then they'll have every
alias.
I'm not quite sure what you're looking for that could be any easier than the
existing GUI.
