Hello,
I am trying to set up a virtual domain hosting service and have just
recently purchased a New Cobalt Raq 3.
Here is the problem:
When I set up a new Host Name and Domain Name,
Example:
Hostname: www
Domain Name: domainname.com
and try to httpd into it (WEB Browser) it goes to the default place
holder page.
I created a new user under that domain; I then did what the place holder
page says and FTPed into domainname.com and replaced the index.html file
that is already there, but it placed me into a completely different
userdir (the new user that I created for that domain) and I cant cd ..
up in FTP to get to the proper dir.
Please note that I am running a different DNS server than this system.
The records are working in my DNS server, in case that was what you were
thinking (unless I am overlooking a small detail).
This is what I want:
I need to be able to create a new user with domainname.com bound to that
user's home dir. When the user FTPs in, I want the user to go to the dir
that the domain name is bound to.
I have tried everything except for replacing the DocumentRoot in the
httpd.conf file, but if I were to do that, I would need to specify the
users default home dir as well for FTP and e-mail purposes.
Please help me ASAP, as I am in a desperate RUSH.
Thank you,
Randall Clark
