Subject: [cobalt-users] New Proftpd [ important fixes ]
Date: Fri, 14 Jan 2000 19:53:53 -0800
A new version of Proftpd is available, and contains for following
fixes.
Fixes:
- Update to pre9
- RaQ 1/2/3 Qube 2 If you have a large group of site admins (around
260), some (RaQ 3) or all site admins (RaQ 1/2) get locked into there
home directory. The fix should work up to 4096 site admins.
- RaQ3 only, Proftpd generates a high system load and delay when any
user tries to log in using ftp. This will happen if you have more than
260 users in any one group.
- RaQ3 only, Previous pre9 versions posted to expiriemental, the work
around to the above problem caused the last user in the group not to be
read correctly, denying them site admin ftp access.
- RaQ 3 only, a sendfile problem on transfers of a lot of small files,
basically while doing a mget * (prompt off) in ftp it will pause at:
150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for xxxxxx (xxxx bytes).
The pause is about 1-2 seconds per file, mput * does not display the
same behavior.
