Yes it can be done.
It is as simple as assigning the one site a different IP address and assigning
multiple sites the same IP address. The GUI (console) allows you to enter the IP
address of the site when setting it up. Using an IP address and never using it
again on other sites would be IP based and using one IP address on multiple
sites would be namebased.
