It doesn't work. When I try to pull up www.mydomain.com:8080 I get a page
not found error. Hell, I get a microsoft page that says can not fiund
specified server, blah blah. Has anyone done this?
Yes <smile>. But not on a Raq <frown>.
In fact, when I thought about it just this morning, I figured the RaQ was
so "automatic" that this would probably break it beyond repair. I was
going to ask if someone had done it, so I hope you get some positive replies.
In the meantime, I build staging and development sites on another server
<frown> which means there's a lot of things that may not work when we
finally go live on the Raq <boo>.
One way around it is to use something like www.mydomain.com for live,
stage.mydomain.com for staging, and devel.mydomain.com for
development. There are some problems, of course. While most people won't
find these, some search engines will. You might not catch some path
errors. And you need to set up multiple domains to do it.
