Hello,
Just received the following from the RaQ2 Cron Daemon:
---------------------------------------------------
Subject: Cron <root@gamma> /usr/local/sbin/monitor
Your vendor has not defined Socket macro , used at
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/auto/Cobalt/Monitor/mon_portwatch.al line 63
---------------------------------------------------
6 minutes later got a CPU warning. It took me about 10 minutes to get 'top'
to reply through telnet:
load average: 55.35, 68.85, 58.86
Command "syslogd" is taking 99.9% cpu
Getting CPU info through the web is impossible. Although non monitor parts
of admin are still working (slowly).
Now after 20 minutes, load is going back to a more usual >0.5 average.
If anyone has info on why this happened and what to do to prevent this,
please lmk.
BTW when doing 'top' initially the lists was 95% consisting of ads.pl
executions (aka webadverts). We are about to stop using webadverts, but I
must say it has run with no problems (on a small site) for over 3 months on
this server. Obviously there may be a relationship with my CPU prob...
Thanks very much in advance.
David
