What user are uploading as?
What are the current group/owner & permission settings now? (ls -l )
What are you trying to upload to the Merchant directory?
What is your current directory structure?
How is Miva configured in the srm.conf file? Look at the tail end of the
file
and you should see a Miva Directive that looks something like this:
# === BEGIN MIVA CONFIGURATION ===
ScriptAlias /cgi-bin /home/sites/home/cgi-bin
AddType application/x-miva .mv
Action application/x-miva /cgi-bin/miva
# === END MIVA CONFIGURATION ===
This is the default miva config which will conflict with your home site if
you have
cgi-wrap disabled and have set a script-alias for a normal cgi-bin.
Miva suggests changing it to /cgi-miva in these cases.
If you want to change permissions on the whole directory:
1. SU to root. (admin can not do chown's on root owned files)
2. chown -R httpd.home cgi-bin (or whatever directory you want to change)
You might want to send this to the miva-admin list too.

Subject: [cobalt-users] Changing permissions for folder on RAQ3i
I have just installed Miva Merchant for the RAQ3i. When trying to upload to
the merchant2 directory, the system reports "permission denied". I have
tried to change the permissions for this directory, but am unable to.
How do I go about changing the permissions for this folder or what am I
doing wrong.
Any help would be much appreciated
Regards,
Marc Seymour
