I wouldn't call myself a MySQL expert, but I worked with it at my
previous job as webmaster at the biggest ISP in Montana (yeah, big woop
;).

You'd do well to post your question to the MySQL mailing list, or search
at http://lists.mysql.com/ 

Anyway, I think for queries like you're talking about, the main issue is
going to be RAM... 128 megs won't be enough...
