That doesn't mean it's not possible, however.  At my previous job, our
server guy got PHP 3.0.12 working with SSL... it was all in one beast,
running mod_ssl. As I recall, something about adding a listen on port
443 right in the httpd.conf. Not for the faint of heart, but it can be
done.
