If you insist on posting to a mailing list dealing with a Unix operating
system with HTML, no one will take pity on you.

I hope someone out there has pity on my newbie efforts to get FrontPage
working over the holidays. Our friends at Cobalt are hard to reach over the
holidays.
I'm trying to enable a FrontPage 2000 sub-web on a Qube 2. I think I'm
doing everything right, but nonetheless FrontPage doesn't seem to like
publishing to the Qube.
The Qube has latest OS Rel 4 and Qube 2 Update OS Release 2 so it should
work with FrontPage 2000.
I telnet into the server and using the enable.subweb utility I create a new
subweb which I notice seems to appear under home/groups/home/new subweb . I
create the subweb with a new Frontpage username and password. However when
I go into FrontPage and try to publish to the subweb with FTP I get
'permission denied'. When publishing using an http address, I don't get
even this far.
I've tried using the fpsrvadm.exe utility to see if it is any better at
setting up subwebs, but still no joy. I notice that some options don't run
properly using fpsrvadm.exe and this has me suspicious. For example the
check function give me an error 'the server administration programs and
server extensions on the web server are not compatible. The server is too
old to use with this administration program'. This sounds bad.
Are there any easy to follow procedures out there to setup FrontPage 2000 on
a Qube 2?
