For example, mine is: $whereami = "email-lists.com"; But then all your lists will come from that domain name.If this is NOT what you want, then you should carefully read the stuff at <http://www.sendmail.org/virtual-hosting.html> for sendmail, and the stuff at <http://www.greatcircle.com/majordomo/FAQ.html#3.12> for majordomo.
I just spent a week learning the intricacies of this; we offer personalized-domain email-lists (hosted by majordomo) as one of our services.
Our solution was to package a complete new copy of majordomo, carefully customized, for every domain for which we host. We use a separate /etc/aliases.majord.domainname file for each domain (which requires a change to /etc/sendmail.cf), and also create a special section at the bottom of /etc/virtusertable for each domain.
I am offering custom installations as a service; call or write me if you'd like. I will be creating a package with customization scripts at some point, that has to take a back burner to some more pressing projects for now.
