RE: [cobalt-users] Help with CNAME

David,

Thanks for the advice. I've tried the index.html approach using:

<REDIRECT TYPE="client" LOCATION="http://www.oncologics.org"/>

but I'm having no luck. The page doesn't redirect me to my target url.
Would you mind sending me the correct syntax or the steps necessary to
implement the 'Server Alias' in the httpd.conf?

Thanks,

-Ben

	The RaQ's provides name based virtual hosts. Apache decides which site
the user is after by checking the URL requested. So, although the DNS
entries are correct, pointing www.name.net to www.name.org, the
requested URL will still be 'http://www.name.net/'. Your server will not
have been configured with a site called 'www.name.net' and so will
return the default site.

	AFAIK, there is no way with Cobalt's UI to have multiple names for one
site unless it is on it's own IP.

	There are two possible solutions depending on what you are willing to
do :-

	You can modify httpd.conf and add a 'ServerAlias' line in the virtual
host's configuration. You will have to replace this, by hand, every time
you modify the site via Cobalt's UI.

	Create a site 'www.name.net' and have the index.html file redirect the
browser to 'www.name.org'.

	Unfortunately, neither are ideal solutions.

	Good Luck.

Dave
