Joey -

I have had this problem since day one.  I've tried a US Robotics
V-everything, a USR Voice Fax modem and a 3COM Impact-IQ ISDN Terminal
adapter.  Cobalt has had an open trouble report on this for nearly a year.
Obviously they don't intend to do anything about it.  Apparently they've
only seen this problem with "a few" ISP's.  What I ended up doing was
junking all of the above and buying a 3COM LAN modem and sticking it on the
LAN and pointing the Qube to it. Too bad since the only reason for buying
the QUBE-2 was so I could hook a modem to it.

Sorry I don't have a fix, but I wanted you to know that you aren't the only
one that has (have) the problem.

Have you tried another ISP?  This might sound like more stuff to do but try
another ISP.  At least if it still doesnt connect you will know which way to
go
with it.
