AOL does a lot of things that are not nice. But these are not bugs. They are
designed flaws, not design flaws.

Look at it this way: They are not in the business of offering their
subscribers internet service. They lose money on that. They are in the
business of selling eyeballs to advertisers. They make a bundle on that.
Curtailing service saves losses. Fencing in eyeballs makes money. These are
therefore their two agenda items.
