Re: [cobalt-users] Complete Server Restore

Hi David.......thanks so much for the tip!

Really and truly nothing is screwed up other than mismatched versions of system DB files......

I was so tired....I can't remember exactly what happened.....but so many pm files were updated from CPAN......

The email/web server/ftp work fine.....but the dynaloder.pm and cobalt's moitor.pm aren't being able to execute....they are looking for the older, now non existing .pm files...

I just lost my virginity to Cobalt Tech support........  they were so nice yesterday...I thought everything was going to be ok.......now they guy who was helping me said he didn't have time to fix it but could charge me if I wanted......lol.......that was the last I've heard.

I've been searching the list archives....I don't have the restore CD....but I do have entire server config backups....

What do you think?

Do you have the restore cd? This is the best way, as it makes the server brand new again. You can also do this
/usr/local/sbin/sysreset -f
This will reset it back to factory settings, unless you have a lot screwed up on the server. Which it sounds like you do.
Email me privately if you need a better solution.

Does anyone know how or if the Cobalt OS can be reinstalled?

I've got a Raq2 with all sorts of problems and only 6 sites on it......

I could probably reload all the sites faster than screwing around with everything thats wrong.

The GUI is pretty much non functional at this point......
