Sounds like the same as the NT thing. You need to modifty the site manually
to tell it where the mailserver etc is.

Telnet in as root and change to /usr/local/frontpage

in that directory you will find a list of domains that are frontpage enabled
with ports on the end of the filenames. Example:

www.domain.com:80.cnf

Edit this file. On the bottom it SHOULD already have a SMTPHost line
(something I noticed Cobalt software nicely adds in).

If it's not there you'll need to add:

SMTPHost:127.0.0.1

Change 127.0.0.1 if different to your local machine for sending SMTP mail.

Incidently you might also want the line:

MailSender:user@xxxxxxxxxx

This is who the forms will appear to come from, but it's not essential.

If you already had the SMTP line then I'm afraid I don't know. Try removing
the FrontPage extensions (via GUI) and reenabling them?

I have never been able to use the FrontPage98 extensions to create a form
and
have that form emailed to someone.

FrontPage works well. I can logon, use the themes, create object, upload and
download files.

But the server always reports the error

FrontPage Error.
User: please report details to this site's webmaster.
Webmaster: please see the server's system log for more details.


On an NT server, this means the server is not allowing the FrontPage
extensions
to use the sendmail program to relay mail.  Which is a simple fix on an NT
machine.

Does anyone have a suggestion.

Coblat support has been working on this one since February with no
resolution.
