This is the same thing that happened to me. Read Jeff's post. Better Yet,
I'll post it here again.
I am going to assume that you downloaded the Majordomo RPM
from Cobalt's ftp site and used rpm to install it, which in turn is
causing all of the problems you are seeing. You where looking extend the
existing Majordomo not install a new one.
There are also known problems with the way the original Majordomo rpm was
created, Cobalt uses scripts that run after rpm installation at build
time that make it all work.
This is a big differnece between RaQ 1 and RaQ 2, RaQ 1
uses /etc/aliases to do mailing list while RaQ 2 uses Majordomo.
Did support tell you to do this?

Afraid I can't help much there with that problem apart from try recreating
the file manually:
(as root)
touch /usr/local/majordomo/lists/site17
touch /usr/local/majordomo/lists/site17-users
chmod 664 /usr/local/majordomo/lists/site17
chmod 664 /usr/local/majordomo/lists/site17-users
chown admin.daemon /usr/local/majordomo/lists/site17
chown admin.daemon /usr/local/majordomo/lists/site17-users
edit site17 file so it contains the usernames of all SITEADMINS for that
site.
edit site17-users so it contains ALL usernames for that site.
The way I got round installing majordomo on the RaQ2 was to install it in a
different directory (I created a user called majordomox and it all runs
under that - You need to manually configure /etc/virtusertable, but custom
changes are allowed at the bottom)
Hope that's of some help.
