[cobalt-users] Qube2 - AppleShare (Netatalk) Problem

Guys,
Who uses the Appleshare (i.e. Netatalk) service on a Qube2?
I seem to have a problem where Netatalk does not preserve the creation
date/time stamp or the modification date/time stamp of files copied to
Netatalk volumes. In the case of creation date/time stamp it gets back
dated by 30 years and in the case of modification date/time stamp it gets
set to the time the file was copied. For example;
A Netscape bookmark called Telstra Internet - TDA copied to a Netatalk
volume ...
Location Creation Modification
local disk 23 Aug 1999 9:28 pm 23 Aug 1999 9:28 pm
Netatalk volume 30 Aug 1969 4:39 pm 2 Dec 1999 10:05 am
These files were simply copied to the Qube2.
Why didn't Netatalk preserve the file creation or modification date/time
stamps?
Why was the Creation time back dated 30 years?
I have 2 Qube2s on different sites which have the same problem. I have
another 2 Qube 2700WGs on another two sites which do NOT have the problem.
Confirmation of the problem elsewhere would be nice ... any suggestions on
how to resolve would be appreciated.
Cheers, Malcolm
