[cobalt-users] RE: E-Commerce (was [Cobalt] RAQ3i)

I tried it, and have a demo running with the Cobalt's Red Hat SSL installed.

There are a number of drawbacks to it.

1. You have to edit the httpsd.conf file if you use Cobalt's SSL. The open
shop will not work without an alias set in the file, but not too hard to do.
2. Since it runs in frames, when the order form is accessed, the secure lock
will not show up in the browser.
3. You are only allowed 25 items in the free program, and they want $500.00
for the Pro Version license per year.
4. You cannot edit any of the pages other than the viewable item list via
the control panel. Big DRAWBACK see #5
5. There are a few fields in the order form that need to be added (State),
and you can't do it.
6. Runs on your Main Server. Does not stay in the Domain name.
7. Uses the Main Server SSL Certificate. Not sure about the Pro Version.

Good features.

1. Installs easily with a PKG file.
2. Simple control panel, similar to Cobalt's
3. Adds domain / virtual site usage like Cobalt's
