RE: [cobalt-users] Fun with Samba

Samba doesn't yet have complete domain controller code. The Samba team are
still working on it, so you can't use user lists and so thus you will have
to use password sharing as apposed to userlists. If you have a real NT
machine use that as the domain controller and modify the Samba config so it
works with security = domain but NOT as the master controller. (but I'm
guess you probably don't as you're trying to use the Linux machine)

Subject: [cobalt-users] Fun with Samba

I'm trying to set up user lever access sharing with samba on a
win98 network. I'm using my Qube2 as a domain controller and it
seems to be verifying passwords all right for logon but when I try to
share resources on the client I get a message saying "You cannot
view the list of users at this time. Please try again later."
Is it a Samba function to keep that user list and it just needs more
tweaking or what is going on here?
