My Qube2 is rather badly behaved and more often than not often 
will not reset the modem if it is turned off at the switch.
Is there any way to send commands directly to a modem without 
using a terminal program? Perhaps using a simple shell script or 
something of the like?
Or even better is there some way to reduce the time out on the dial 
on demand connection so that users are not tempted to turn it off 
at the switch.
