[cobalt-users] rant not, just loosen up

Hi Guys,

Davis [knothole@xxxxxxxxxxx] asked:
> Why are unix gurus so enamored of plain ascii? It's just plain.

As this is coming from the same guy who earlier wrote "Geeks like
to bash Bill (Gates). But he has the best stuff." I suspect
that this is just another troll...

Since other list members have directly answered the "points"
Davis brought-up, I won't belabor them here. But everyone missed
the most important point:

When you submit your questions to a list filled with "unix geeks"
and want a meaningful answer to solve your problems, the best
approach is to follow the list rules to the letter. Otherwise,
some "unix geek" with the very best answer may see your name and
hit the delete key. Enlightened self-interest should be your
guide.

Extolling the virtues of Micro$oft, overquoting, using HTML and
calling some of our most knowledgable list members "some unix
geek with the prickly heat" who needs to "climb out of the stone
age" is not exactly the formula for success on this list.
Besides, this kind of blatent flame-baiting has no place here.

If you like Micro$oft so much, why are you here anyway? I'm sure
Windows NT support would be happy to send you all the fancy HTML
email you desire, I think the going rate is $180/hr.

Good Luck,

Paul
