RE: [cobalt-users] Live streams on a RaQ2

I'm a little lost. You say that as if you want the webcam attached directly
to the RaQ2? But then all you'd see would be your datacenter... a little
boring? (unless that was the idea?) if that was what you meant then I don't
honestly know if it can be done. I don't know if there's even a way to
connect a camera (USB?) to the RaQ let alone having software which is MIPS
Linux (Probably not).

Otherwise if you meant a camera at a remote location which uploads to the
server, then yes this is very possibly as they would just FTP up every
interval.

You said about having it at 25fps. Most webcams (in my experience) take a
new picture every 2 or 3 minutes. NOT every 25th of a second (live) as the
bandwidth used on download is horrendous (even if you use Real Video which
doesn't work on a RaQ)

Hope that helped a bit.

Subject: [cobalt-users] Live streams on a RaQ2

A customer of mine asked me if it would be possible to have a live stream
coming from a web cam on my server (a RaQ2).

The webcam will make about 25 pictures/sec. so my question is has anyone
ever done such a project? Is it possible to have such a stream on a RaQ2 ?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Manuel
