RE: [cobalt-users] Buggy GUI

Hmmm... that command is close, but no cigar. The proper way of running it
should be:

	"/usr/admserv/cgi-bin/.cobalt/install/install.cgi </dev/null"

or run it and hit ctrl-d for input. Taken with null input, it will
regenerate the page. Do you happen to remember offhand where on our website
you got that command?? I'll inform our webmaster to update the offending
page, but it would help me greatly if I had a more specific pointer.

First, let me tell you how I wiped it so you don't make the same mistake.

I installed the OS upgrade via command line.
That went fine but it didn't update the "Installed Software" list.
I found this on Cobalt's site regarding uninstalling packages:

The "Install Software" page in the administrative web interface
is not updated until you run the file
      "/usr/admserv/cgi-bin/.cobalt/install/install.cgi".

So I did that... Big mistake...
It asked for info that I didn't know the anwsers to...

My "Install Software " page was now there but empty... As in 0 bytes...

I ended up getting it back by running that cgi through my browser....

http://my.server.com:81/cgi-bin/.cobalt/install/install.cgi

And that was after about an hour and a half of trying other methods...
Like copying the template for that page to where the missing page should
be....
