At LEAST half the Spam! Probably more like 80% or more. It's a great idea
to install mailscanner and spamassin by yourself because it FORCES you to
learn the options. Belive me, I'm NO cobalt/linux guru and was leaning
towards installing with a .pkg. I'm glad I didn't. I now have
rulesets/options for treating spam on an individual site basis. Some sites
just get tags to notify the end user while sites like my personal one sends
this crap to the garbage where it belongs. End result, clients can decide
for themselves what to filter while I go from 100+ spams/day to about 10.
I'm thinking of even setting the low spam score to 4 instead of 5 as I see
MANY spams come through with this score as if they run there crap through
things like Spamassin to see what it scores (why not, I would), make
adjustments to get the score down to 4 (or less) since a lot of sites
recommend 5.

Bottom line, you can't really deal with the SpamMonster by implementing just
ONE solution. Also, this is the time to consider Virus protection as well.
Block the MAJOR violaters at the gate with the cobalt reject, filter the
viruses out, control the spam as best you can. You need a few tricks in
your bag and even then those *jackarses* sneack a few by.

P.S. this may be a topic better suited for the users list as it fequently
comes up for discussion...
