Point taken.

True but, bottom posting is useful in other ways, such as when archiving the
posts.
If the respondent follows the etiquette, they snip all but, the relevant
information. They leave enough so "we" can understand the part they are
responding too.

Yes.

No. That is what the archives are for (or you could ask someone offline).
The archives, are another reason to follow the posting format
recommendations. It makes the Archive easier to use.

I hate to drag this thread on. Perhaps Dom will post his Mailing List
meta-faq to give the list subscribers a better perspective on the subject.
