The Cobalt Linux OS distributions were managed in part by most software
engineers for new product development and in sustaining. Any engineer
could add in apps or update them to meet a marketing feature request.
Between product generations we would try and align kernel and major apps
with the then-current RedHat distro.
Management and legal were well informed of what software was in use but
there wasn't really one manager for the distributions.
