I'm not totally certain BUT, if you install a PHP patch that may replace the
SUN version of PHP. What I don know is that I installed a second version and
when I was updating "my version" got wiped out by the patch. If nothing else
that will be quicker than a complete reinstall ;)

I'm not sure there is a way to uninstall it once you have done that.
Basically you must not upgrade the php version that the GUI uses or you will
break your RaQ 550 big style as you have found out.
If you want to use a later version of php then you must install it in a
different location and then use it.
