There really is little difference between installing Java and Tomcat on
a RaQ or a Cube. They are both Linux systems and the install should be
the same.

If you install it yourself then it will not effect the UI unless you do
something abnormal.

Not sure what all you did, but installing Tomcat and Java should not
interfere with anything else. Apache if anything. However any
modifications can easily be reversed without doing an OS restore or what
ever you mean by "reinstall all my cobalt system".

Not really a solution, but answers. Were you looking for a pkg or
something? The one that exists is old. I am not sure if anyone else is
working on a new one or not?
