Patches on the 550 are a little different than other Raq's. They are handled
through the BlueLinQ tab when you first log into your Raq.

Choose BlueLiQ and then Sun Cobalt Updates. The BlueLinQ feature
automatically shows you what updates are available for your machine. 

You can install manually from there by simply clicking the link. It also has
the feature to automatically install updates but knowing Cobalt updates I
wouldn't 
recommend this feature be enabled.
