Yes. Mine arrived around the first of this year. From my understanding
any XTR's that were purchased and arrived before January 1, 2002 are
most likely first generation XTR's.

Very good point, and for that matter let me say that I have a second
generation XTR. I also have not attempted to install/upgrade the new
kernel. I am afraid to at this point. :)

Let's forgo diplomacy here for details and problems. We are all
developers here (or should be), and as long as we are respectful to each
other, let's not beat around the bush.

Let's get straight to the point, and get some resolution. I am sure we
all have better things to do, or should I say, other things to develop
and worry about.
