[cobalt-developers] Re: RaQXTR-All-Kernel-1.0.1-2.2.16C33_V-1

Hi Michael,
yes, i know this "emergeny"-option, but yesterday i was a few 100km away
from the servers. And to do this PROM-boot somebody has to go to the
machines and get them up. Many hours later i got somebody go there but
he could not get them up with the PROM boot option. So on Monday i will
try to fix as much as possible - but as these machines are quite new i
think this is going to become a case for the warrenty.
However, it is NOT possible to do a reboot by Web or shell. And i am very
angry because it seems to me that Sun issued a package that was not
completely checked. And a kernel update is not funny at all.

Hi Jan,
Monday will be a great beginning of the week - try to fix it. I think i
will look for some alternives to cobalt servers in the future as this is
not the first time they issued a buggy update.

I'm sorry to hear 'bout your troubles. I'm not sure if it works at all, but you might want to try to boot with the ROM kernel instead. Choose "Boot from ROM" from the LCD panel and see if it helps. -- With best regards,
