Sounds to me like you are using a Qube Professional CD (designed for 2
drives) on a single-drive Qube. I've seen similar behavior using RaQ4r or
Control Station OSRCD on a single-drive RaQ4i. When the RAID tries to
configure, it fails as there aren't 2 drives, and just starts over.
Can you verify which CD you are using and how many drives are in the Qube?
(Ensure all the cables are connected to the drives, drives are powering up,
etc).
Also try connecting another machine via null modem cable to the Qube serial
console so you can watch all the output from the formatting commands, etc.
That will tell you where it's falling down for sure. (Note - you might
need to enable the serial console first. Hold in the password reset button
-- hole next to LCD -- when powering up the Qube, and verify "CONSOLE ON"
message appears. If "CONSOLE OFF" appears, power-cycle again while holding
in the switch)
