Re: [cobalt-developers] openwebmail on a raq 550

Like we already said in a private mail to you, we are investigating the
issue.
Until now, he have been successfull in replicating this issue, and we can be
sure that Open Webmail as it is configured for RaQ 550 now, will never work
due to the complete different way of storing usernames and passwords on a
RaQ 550.
Normally these are stored in flat files, being /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow.
On the RaQ 550 they are however stored in a password database, so we need to
use PAM to authenticate.
Unfortunately the PAM authentication module that comes with openwebmail does
not contain all the necessary code to get it working on RaQ 550. I will try
to create a new authentication module, especially for the RaQ 550 this
coming week and release a new version then.

My apologies for the confusion. I didn't really test Open Webmail on the RaQ
550, just with the admin account.

With regards,

Taco Scargo
