You can't run the fp2002 on a raq2. I'm running them on raq 3/4 but when I tried to set them up on a raq 2, I found that even though MS provides the source code for the apache patch, they do not provide the source code for the extensions themselves. Therefore you have to use binary files. I checked and guess what... they did not create binary files for the Mips line of CPUs that are found in the earlier raqs. Useless aside: The apache patch compiles flawlessly on the Raq 2. Too bad there are no extensions though.
Ummm... I'm a little confused. Is the Apache patch already installed on the Raq4 by virtue of already having the FP2000 extensions, or is this something new and I need to install the Apache patch as well?
What exactly does the Apache patch do? Is it possible it will break my Apache? Or is it just a module or something that I can comment out of httpd.conf? I'm running Apache 1.3.20 and it says it's designed for 1.3.19... I certainly don't want to have to recompile Apache...
Also will it break the functionality of the FrontPage features in the GUI (as suggested here: http://list.cobalt.com/pipermail/cobalt-users/2001-December/060779.html)? Why should it? Aren't the FP configurations simply the conf files written to /usr/local/frontpage and all that other drivel that goes in the user's web space? Why wouldn't the GUI still be able to write all the necessary files - or has the format for the configurations changed?
In fact, why bother? I think I'll just go get a Windoze box... cb
