Ok ... now that I've lifted the lid on another Qube3 I find that in it Disk
A is connected to the IDE socket closest to the front of the Qube.

Given that Qube with the "bad" disk has been in service for over a year
without a problem (i.e. never been opened before) and to replace Disk A you
don't need to disconnect Disk B, it looks to me that it was assembled wrong.
I guess that would be easy to do.

I'll have to review how the ribbon cables sit in the other Qube ... they
certainly appeared to be sitting "naturally" with no obvious "cross over".

Wouldn't it have been nice if the ribbon cables were labelled.
