I just found a quick way to set up DNS (at least quicker than I had been
doing). Anyone see anything wrong with this that I should consider?
I use 27 bit mask on my reverse address lookup (this makes me change each
entry from the default of 24, very time consuming).
Old way:
Create A Record, select Auto Create Reverse lookup.
Save
Modify Reverse Lookup record to change to 27 bit mask
New way:
Create Reverse Lookup (PTR) record. Select 27 bit on the drop-down menu,
select Auto Create A Record.
Save
This saves me the step of modifying the Reverse entry each time. Am I just
slow to have discovered this? Any reason to not do it this way?
I bought a RAQ3, read a few pages of documentation, and set it up. I don't
experiment too much with my great running server :)
