On the qube3 preinstalled is fetchmail. You can set up one multidrop retreival from the GUI and this places a config file called multidrop:localdomain into /etc/fetchmail/

You could then manually edit the file and add in the required extra servers etc, or you could write another start-up script to launch fetchmail as a daemon with a config file of your choice. Have a look at the fetchmail man page, its very good and will provide you with all the details that you will need to get this working as you want.
