It's been a while since I worked with ASP or ChiliSoft specifically.
When I was there was only support for certain past version of VBScript. I cannot remember if that was the case with JavaScript.
You will not be able to use the latest version of VBScript syntax and features. I cannot remember what version it comes with but it is no where near the latest releases of VBScript.
So in that sense you may want to see which one will allow for the most functionality, or allow you to use a later version.
Since then the version of VBScript may have been upgraded, but knowing MS and their relationship with Sun, I doubt it.
So you may want to use JavaScript. Although most books show ASP code with VBScript. :)
