Not true. In fact can't be true, since you receive email through POP on
port 110, and Earthlink blocks port 25, for OUTGOING email. And if it
were true, you could still do without Sendmail, because switch uses the
same opensource code as sendmail; you'd just have to change the settings
yourself.

I think this misunderstanding comes about because you _can_ use Sendmail
Switch to tell sendmail to receive mail on another port besides port 25,
and then to relay it. So this is a solution for _outgoing_ email, and
again, you don't need "switch" to do it (I've been doing it for years).
One thing you _do_ need is a mail client that can send on another port
besides 25; Eudora for Windows makes it easy (though you won't find it
in the user documentation); I've never figured out how to do it with
Netscape or Outlook Express, though.

But again, this is an _outgoing_ solution.

Incoming needs no solution. I've said it before, and I'll say it
again. I've used Earthlink dialups to get email from my pop-server on
my own RaQ over and over again. It just works.
